Paulina Porizkova best typifies what most famous celebrities follow to be included in the list of personalities that follow the same path towards fame and fortune. Given the needed breaks in the 80’s, Paulina started out her storied career through participating in modeling gigs, something that most famous actors have gone through prior to being counted among the elite people who have become familiar topics and references to date.
Paulina Porizkova, a tall Czech born actress at 5’10" started her career through various magazine advertisements such as Sport Illustrated Swimsuits. Mixing the right height with the stunning looks, it was apparent that Paulina was destined for superstardom in the modeling industry, a niche that has made her among the top supermodels of today. She has had the various opportunities to be able to penetrate the movie industry, but has so far not really made an impact. She has starred in various roles, such as Anna where she starred together with Sally Kirkland in 1987 and also in 1989 where she co-starred with Tom Selleck in “Her Alibi”. The breaks were rather forgettable and unlike the success she has had in the modeling industry, the movie industry was simply too hard on the Czech native.
Married to a musician, Ric Ocasek of the Cars, Paulina has two sons with this lead musician. A naturalized citizen, Paulina will always be remembered to be among the top models that graced the leading magazine pages such as Sports Illustrated and Life magazine, even being chosen as among the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World in 1990 and 1992.

Paulina Porizkova is "America's Next Top Judge" December 7, 2007
The uber-popular reality show "America's Next Top Model" has just lost a judge in the person of Twiggy, the legendary supermodel of yore, due to scheduling conflicts. The lucky lady who got to replace her was none other than supermodel Paulina Porizkova. The gorgeous model joins Tyra Banks, the show's creator/executive producer/star, runway expert J. Alexander and fashion photographer Nigel Barker, along with special guest judges for the show's Cycle 10. The latest season is set to premiere in late February or early March in CW. Paulina Porizkova began modeling at age 15 and has just recently competed on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars". She also wrote the novel "A Model Summer" for Hyperion books. Says the reality show's executive producer, "We are thrilled to have Paulina Porizkova as a part of this cycle's judging panel. The show and participants will benefit a great deal from her vast modeling knowledge and expertise." Can't wait to see her in the judging panel!
